Tenera was hired to provide repair specifications for concrete repairs at a mid-rise residential condominium on Church Street in Toronto. The scope of work included crack repairs in walls and ceilings, as well as floor crack repairs and coating applications within the mechanical room. This project is part of a series of waterproofing and concrete repair tasks awarded this client, with significant work carried out in the underground parking garage and utility rooms.
Optimised Concrete Repair Solutions
Our approach to concrete crack repair integrates specialized materials and advanced application techniques that are tailored for use on multiple surfaces, such as floors, walls, and ceilings in parking garages and other structures. For wall and ceiling crack repairs, the use of high-performance adhesives eliminates the need for traditional formwork, ensuring the crack filler is securely bonded for a durable repair.
Repair Method
Crack Repair
Ceiling crack repairs, in particular, present unique challenges due to gravity. Conventional materials are often unsuitable because they may not stay in place. Our method begins by having the contractor widen the crack to allow for the optimal installation of repair materials. After the crack is prepped and cleaned, an industrial-grade adhesive is applied to secure a specialised crack filler. The surface is then smoothed, and when required by the client, it is finished with a paint coating to seamlessly blend with the surrounding area. This comprehensive process ensures long-lasting integrity and a clean aesthetic finish. In utility rooms, a waterproofing membrane is used to coat the repaired crack to ensure more durable results.
